Service Description

If you have ever wanted to try performing and competing, come join the Vibes! Simone will be training a small group of beginner level heels dancers throughout the summer to compete at the Waterloo Heels Championship in September. This is a 12 week program that will combine foundational dance elements, heels technique, strength, flexibility and endurance training. The vibe of the team is empowerment, inclusivity, fun and growth! There will be no audition required to join the team! The only requirement is that you are a beginner heels dancer with some experience. Simone is passionate about making dance inclusive for ALL bodies and backgrounds. This means that you do not need to have your splits or do multiple turns to join this team (but if you can, you are still welcome!). The end choreography will focus on dance and musicality, rather than acrobatics and advanced technique. Simone will work to identify each dancers strengths, and build a routine that highlights them, as well as challenges everyone to build real development in abilities. We will be competing in the pro-am category, so Simone will be hitting the stage right alongside you! This is the perfect team for dancers who have never competed before and who want to become more empowered and confident dancers and people outside of class. Classes will primarily take place at 25 George Street S Cambridge, with some final rehearsals taking place in Waterloo at 92 King Street S closer to the competition. Classes will be 1.5 length. It is expected that dancers make every effort to attend all classes and any extra rehearsals scheduled to ensure we are stage ready and respect dedicated team members. Days away should be communicated in advanced at a max of 2 missed classes (for purposes other than emergencies or illness). Please email before registering if you need to miss classes. In addition to the $260 team registration fee which covers your 12 weeks of training, each team member will be required to purchase the Waterloo Heels Festival competitor pass/registration. We will also select a costume as a team that meets all of our budgets, which will likely be purchased in August.
