Healing Movement:
Mental Health & Suicide Awareness
This workshop is the first one of the series! It takes place January 24, 2026 from 1-4pm.
Join Simone for a 3 hour dance workshop in memory of her sister, Sabrina St.Angelo, lost to suicide after a life long struggle with significant mental illness.
This workshop will be a safe space to feel, heal, express, connect and dance alongside others that have experience with mental illness, have had a loss of a loved one to suicide, or who are advocates for suicide awareness and mental health supports in our community. I am partnering with Remix Swing, who is graciously hosting Vibes Dance in their studio to make this event possible! 100% of registration cost proceeds ($35 per spot) will be donated to Camino Mental Health + Well-Being, in support of their services in the community that work to help individuals that may be facing mental health related hardships.

The workshop will be broken into a two part combo class, roughly 1 hour and 20min per part. There will be allocated time for an intermission and community connections/introduction at the start.
Part One: Feeling
A contemporary style dance combination that focuses on feeling and expressing our emotions related to mental illness and suicide. A time to release what you may have been holding in, and remind you that you are not alone. A time to grieve and let our bodies express with our community.
Part 2: Healing
An upbeat choreography with inspiration from jazz funk style dance. This is a time for remembering and honouring our loved ones, for holding space for positive reflection and time spent with them. A time for healing and recognizing that it is okay to still have joy within suffering.
